Despite the challenging market environment, the Group successfully won new customers in Latin America and Africa during the year. An example of this is a significant three-year order for Ethiopia. The blank business reported an operating profit even though the volume pursued was not fully achieved.
Also long-term work to improve the collector coin business was rewarded with positive earnings. Likewise, there was an increase in exports of Finnish collector coins, which now account for almost 50% of sales.

Mint of Finland is a leader in developing responsible operating practices in its sector. Development work is supported by the ISO 26000 standard, the practices of which are being integrated into the company’s operations. The company’s ethical guidelines were also updated during 2015. During the past year, the Group’s structure was simplified and the administrative weight lightened.
